Ram Panesar FCCA

Partner

Ram is a Partner of Jays Accountants. Ram has been a practising Chartered Certified Accountant since 1990. He is the client services manager and provides business and tax advice to clients.

Ram is ably supported by his indispensable team consisting of Srinder, Calliope and Verity.

Away from work, Ram has many interests which include golf, travelling and photography. In recent years, he has with his wife – Srinder and their friends found a passion in Formula 1. On race days, they dress up in team gear – Petronas Mercedes. Food and drinks are themed to the country in which the race is being held!

Srinder Panesar FCCA

Partner

Srinder manages the day to day bookkeeping, VAT and payroll workflow to ensure that deadlines are met. Her role also involves designing and managing the monthly management accounts for clients – some of which are highly detailed and sophisticated.

Srinder qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1997 and is now the go to person for Xero, Sage and Excel.

Her interests are going on holidays and walking and if she is not on holiday, she is probably planning the next! She has in recent years developed and passion for Formula 1 and follows Petronas Mercedes with her husband Ram and friends. Her favourite drivers are Lewis Hamilton & Daniel Ricciardo​!  She has recently combined these interests by going to see live races around the world.

Calliope Jones MAAT
Accountant 

Calliope, (pronounced “Calep”) qualified as an AAT member and is now 3 exams away from becoming a Chartered Certified Accountant.​

Calliope is responsible for self-assessment tax returns, accounts for our business clients and a whole range of duties beyond that to ensure that Jays Clientele tax and accounting obligations are done quickly and in a timely fashion.

He has been with Jays since August 2016 and is the longest serving employee since Sylvia’s retirement (who’s threatening to come back!).

Calliope has many interests outside of work and study, his favourites being his car and boxing. He spends his spare money modifying his current car. However, insurance and finance costs are preventing him upgrading to a V8 powered car with all the trimmings, before they are outlawed!

Verity Smith MAAT

Trainee Accountant

Verity is now a qualified AAT member and is 2 exams away from becoming a Chartered Certified Accountant. She has been with Jays since July 2018. She is responsible for bookkeeping and payroll. She is excelling in her training and studies where she is achieving high grades, she recently became a Xero Certified Advisor! She has grown in confidence during her time at Jays and she now regularly visit one of our largest clients. Her aim is to become a Chartered Certified Accountant.

Away from work, she devotes her time in spoiling her two rabbits and her niece. Typical of her generation, she also spends her time on social media and computer games. Her favourite TV series are Killing Eve, she loves music from Jonas Brothers and her favourite film is The Addams Family.

After years of trying to do my 'small business' accounts myself, having no formal accounts skills or qualifications, I decided to seek professional help via Jays Accountants. I should have done it years ago! They are so very friendly, professional, helpful and knowledgeable and have already given me plenty of great advice to make the running of my business smoother and therefore, more effective, costs and logistically. I feel a great sense of relief having them only an email or call away, to sort something quickly and efficiently. I'm so glad I have them on board. As for cost, its very economical and not as much as you might think! Yes, I have to pay a little more now to have them but they are worth every penny to me. My accounts are correct and up to date. No more working to the wee hours to get my tax return in on time! That in itself is worth every penny! If you're thinking about getting an accountant or changing, call Jays. You be SO GLAD you did! I am! I'll never look back.
